01 — The product

A talent marketplace, built by people who have been on both sides

Athletes build a free profile with their stats and performance videos so they can be found. Scouts, agents, managers and matchmakers search and filter a global database of that talent. Organizations get a shared plan to search and manage a roster together. It is a matchmaking platform created by former and current athletes, coaches, agents and executives.

Athletes get discovered

A free app to build a profile with stats and feature videos, so getting noticed does not depend on who you already know.

Professionals find talent

Scouts, agents, managers and matchmakers browse and filter a global database by sport, stats and specific criteria.

Global by design

The database spans many sports and reaches across the world, opening up talent pools well beyond a local network.

02 — The problem

Why is discovering sports talent so hard?

Talent discovery has always run on proximity and contacts. A gifted athlete outside the right network stays invisible, and a scout without a plane ticket stays local. A single global database changes what either side can reach.

Talent trapped by geography — an athlete's chances depend on who happens to be watching, and without a way to be found, ability alone is not enough. Answer → a searchable profile with stats and videos, open to any scout, anywhere.

Scouting that does not scale — word of mouth and travel only cover so much ground, so most professionals only ever see a fraction of the talent that exists. Answer → filter a global database by criteria instead of a plane ticket.

Organisations working in silos — a club's staff each keep their own notes and contacts, so the organisation never sees its scouting as one shared effort. Answer → up to 50 members sharing one plan and one database.

03 — Goals & challenges

What ScoutUs Pro had to get right

Sporting talent is everywhere; the people who can act on it are somewhere else. ScoutUs Pro is the database that puts them in the same place — athletes building a profile on one side, professionals searching for them on the other.

Goals

Put both sides in one database

  • Give athletes a free profile — stats and feature videos, entered from the free iOS and Android app.
  • Let professionals filter, not just browse — scouts, agents, managers and matchmakers shortlist by specific criteria.
  • Support a shared organisation plan — up to 50 members searching and managing a roster together.
  • Go global from day one — a database spanning many sports and reaching across the world.
Challenges

Why it was hard

  • An athlete's chances depend on who happens to be watching, without a way to be found.
  • Word of mouth and travel only cover so much ground for a scout.
  • A club's staff each keep their own notes and contacts instead of one shared effort.
  • The same database has to work across many different sports, not just one.
05 — Three audiences, one database

Who is ScoutUs Pro actually built for?

Three real audiences, three parts of the same homepage — an athlete builds the record, a professional searches it, and an organisation shares it.

04 — The homepage

What does the pitch actually show?

The homepage carries the whole argument in one screen — the athlete's free app on one side, a professional's search tool on the other. Hover a pin to see what each part is doing.

ScoutUs Pro homepage with a professional search panel and an athlete profile card
1Two ways to sign in

Scout login and scout sign-up sit in the top bar — the entry point for the scouts, agents, managers and matchmakers who search the database.

2The pitch, in five words

"Uniting the world of sports" carries the whole premise: one database, athletes on one side, the people who find them on the other.

3Free, and on the phone

"Are you an athlete? Build a profile using our free app" — Google Play and the App Store both link straight from the homepage, no account wall before you see what it does.

4A real filter panel, not a search box

Position, personal details and favourite stats are all filters a professional can narrow by — the database search shown right on the homepage.

5What gets found

A profile carries a name, position, physical stats and season numbers — the record a scout is actually looking for.

06 — What we shipped

The scope, in one panel

Every number in this panel is delivered scope — what was designed, built and handed over on the sports talent build for ScoutUs Pro. It leaves out traffic, conversion and revenue on purpose: those figures belong to the client, and we don’t publish numbers we cannot stand behind.

What does the interface look like, and why?

A deep sporting navy carries the weight, and an electric blue is reserved for action — sign up, search, view a profile — so the accent always means "go find talent". A condensed athletic display face gives the headlines a stadium-scoreboard confidence, with Manrope keeping the database dense but readable.

FAQ

Building a sports talent platform

How long does it take to build a talent marketplace with an app?
A platform with a free athlete app and a professional web search tool over a shared database is a several-month build rather than a few weeks. What moves the timeline most is the mobile app, video handling and how rich the search and filtering need to be. We usually ship the athlete profile app and the core database first, then the professional search and organisation tools.
Why give athletes a free app but charge the professionals?
Because the value of a marketplace is the supply. Making the athlete side free maximises the number of profiles, which is exactly what makes the database worth paying for on the professional side. ScoutUs Pro monetises the scouts, agents, managers and organisations who search the talent, while athletes join at no cost.
How do you build a database that works across many sports?
By modelling what is common — a profile, stats, video, searchable attributes — and letting each sport extend it rather than building a separate product per sport. The hard part is search and filtering that stays fast and relevant as the database grows globally, which is a data and infrastructure problem as much as an interface one.
How much does a platform like ScoutUs Pro cost to build?
It depends on scope, and it cannot be quoted from a screenshot. The biggest drivers are the mobile app, video, the depth of search, and team or organisation features. Shanti Infosoft scopes it on a short call and returns a fixed quote rather than an open-ended estimate.
