The premise

What is Komuty for?

People can live in the same building for years and never meet. Komuty gives the residents of one building a private network — somewhere to talk, help each other, run the shared spaces and raise the alarm when it matters.

A private network for the people who share a building

A private network for the people who share a building

Every feature is scoped to a single building. Neighbours message each other and organise into groups like owners or the residents' association, reserve common areas, post to a classifieds board and reach the whole building instantly in an emergency — all inside one app that a resident actually opens.

Neighbours who actually talkDirect messages and building groups — owners, the association, a floor — turn a list of flats into people who know each other.
The shared spaces, managedA building directory, amenity reservations and reports give residents light management tools without a separate portal.
A whole building, one tap awayThe panic button alerts every neighbour at once, so help in a residential emergency comes from the people nearest by.

What does a community app have to get right?

A social app for a physical community is not the same as a public social network. These held true across Komuty.

  1. Scope everything to the real group. A building network only feels safe because it is the building — not the neighbourhood, not the city, not the internet.
  2. Give people a reason to open it daily. Chat alone fades; pairing it with the marketplace, the shared spaces and safety keeps the app in the daily rhythm.
  3. Groups, not just a firehose. Owners, the association and floors need their own channels, or every message goes to everyone and people mute it.
  4. Make safety instant. An emergency feature has to work in one press under stress, not three taps through a menu.
  5. Design for the phone, in the moment. Residents use it standing in a lift or a hallway, so the screens have to be quick, thumb-first and forgiving.
  6. Respect that these are neighbours. The tone, the defaults and the privacy all have to suit people who will meet in the lobby tomorrow.
FAQ

Building a community app

What founders ask us before they build a social product.

Ask us yours
How long does it take to build a community app for iOS and Android?

An app of Komuty's shape — messaging, groups, a marketplace, building tools and a safety feature across both platforms — is a multi-month build rather than a few weeks. What moves the timeline most is real-time messaging, notifications and how much building-management depth is in scope. We usually ship a core social loop first, then layer the marketplace and management tools.

Why scope a social network to a single building?

Because the boundary is the value. A public network is noisy and anonymous; a building network is small, real and accountable, which is exactly what makes neighbours willing to chat, lend things and respond to an alert. Scoping every feature to one building is what turns a generic social feed into a community people trust.

What makes a safety or panic feature work?

It has to be instant and unambiguous under stress. Komuty's panic button is press-and-hold, alerts the whole building at once and keeps an alert history, so help comes from the people physically nearest rather than a distant call centre. The engineering that matters is reliable delivery of that notification, not the button itself.

How much does it cost to build an app like Komuty?

It depends on scope, and it cannot be quoted from a screenshot. The biggest cost drivers are real-time messaging, cross-platform delivery, and whether payments or deeper building management are included. Shanti Infosoft scopes it on a short call and returns a fixed quote rather than an open-ended estimate.
